Scargo Lake cottage
An existing hip-roof cottage structure located right along a curve in Route 6A, above Scargo Lake needed considerable renovation. The existing roof structure was bolstered and more glazing was added on the South facing the Lake. The design reuses exactly the existing shell and opens up to the South facing elevation to Scargo Lake. The deck along the south was expanded. Clean modern lines were incorporated on the inside under the existing hip roof framing which is exposed.
