Oyster Pond House
The site is in an existing residential neighborhood near Oyster Pond in Falmouth. The existing 1930's Cape had been renovated, but the attached barn in the back of the site had not. The existing barn structure was in such a state of disrepair that it could not be salvaged.
The new addition recalls traditional barn form as inspiration. The added kitchen “connector” with dramatic ceiling and new “barn” contain an open living and dining area, kitchen and master suite above. A new detached carriage style garage creates a private courtyard space in the back of the site.
