Kelleys bay cottage
This dramatic but small site overlooks Kelley’s Bay on the Bass River in South Dennis. The house is perched on top of a tall wooded bluff with dramatic views to the water and ‘tree house’ feel. With Historic, Zoning and Conservation review, the design process was lengthy but in the end the house fits into the scale and character of the existing neighborhood.
The exterior is a modern take on a gabled Cape Cod form with floor to ceiling windows in the back overlooking the water. The dining room pushes out into the yard with modern windows really giving the room a tree house feel.
