Barnstable village historic renovation
This historic renovation of a 1700s classic Cape Cod house near Barnstable Village was designed to be a generational update to the historic house. We reworked and added to the sprawling 1950s addition that overlooks the Great Marsh in the back to better take advantage of these distant views. A modern glassy kitchen looks out to the impressive gardens to the west and a new second floor primary bedroom overlooks the backyard with views to the north.
A true gardener’s mudroom, laundry, pantry and new stair help organize the spaces to the rear. The historic Cape was also renovated with exposed beams, updated mechanicals and timeless built-ins. This enduring renovation will allow the next generation to share the house with extended family for summers and beyond.
